A Practical Understanding of Business

Bradlyn’s career in accounting began at 17 through Monticello High School’s Academy of Finance. That early experience led to work in executive finance and, in 2019, the founding of Insight Cipher.

His background as a CFO and controller informs the way he approaches an owner’s questions. A decision about hiring, pricing, or an investment has consequences across the business. Understanding those consequences means looking at the quality of the financial information, the assumptions behind the plan, and the resources available to carry it out.

At Insight Cipher, Bradlyn brings that perspective to established businesses that want experienced financial guidance and a closer working relationship with their advisor.

His work brings accounting, financial analysis, and tax planning into a close advisory relationship built around the business and the person responsible for it.

A Relationship That Makes Room for the Real Questions

Business owners need room to discuss what they are considering, including the ideas that are still taking shape. Bradlyn’s approach starts with understanding the business, the pressures it faces, and what its owner wants to achieve.

That might mean examining why stronger sales have not improved cash flow, comparing the cost of an additional hire with the capacity it creates, or considering how a business decision affects the owner’s taxes. The purpose is to make the choices clearer and the conversation more useful.

Through fractional CFO advisory, financial planning and analysis, and business tax planning, he helps connect the financial detail with the decisions it needs to inform. The relationship develops as the business changes, so each conversation can build on an understanding of what has come before.

Making Financial Education Accessible

Bradlyn’s interest in financial education began in his own community, and it continues to shape how he shares his knowledge. He independently organized and hosted a series of free financial literacy workshops for adults, with The Black Library graciously providing the venue in Monticello.

The sessions, including a workshop on retirement planning, gave community members a welcoming place to explore financial questions and learn at no cost. Making that opportunity available was a practical way to share the knowledge he uses every day.

Sharing Knowledge

His speaking engagements have also taken him to Think Rich at Deloitte’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza location in Manhattan and to 1BusinessWorld at the World Trade Center in New York. Across these settings, his focus is on making financial ideas understandable and useful to the people in the room.

An Ongoing Connection to Community

The Academy of Finance helped Bradlyn find his direction early in life. Today, he serves as an advisory board member and fundraising chair for the NAF Academy of Finance at Monticello High School, helping support opportunities for students following their own paths.

He also serves as Finance Committee Chair and Treasurer of the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce Foundation and as Board Treasurer of the Sullivan Central Rotary Club. His earlier service on the Rotary Club of Monticello’s board included work as co-chair of the annual Monster Run Classic, which raises funds for local veterans.

A Personal Tradition

His giving extends beyond formal roles to private philanthropy and a holiday tradition that has earned him an affectionate local nickname: the “Turkey Man.” As featured in New Paltz’s alumni magazine, Bradlyn donates turkeys each year to organizations helping Sullivan County families put holiday meals on the table. It is a personal, practical expression of his connection to the community.
